October is designated as National Estate Planning Awareness Month to help us understand the importance of having a current will, trust or financial plan. It’s also a timely opportunity to consider how the legacy you create today can continue making a difference for years to come.
For some Ocean Reef Members, that legacy includes a bequest to the Ocean Reef Community Foundation’s Community Grants program – a meaningful way to ensure that their generosity continues to strengthen the local community they care so deeply about.
Rather than designating a gift to a specific organization whose needs, or even existence, may change over time, a bequest to ORCF Community Grants allows your philanthropy to remain responsive. Each year, a committee of your fellow Ocean Reef Members carefully reviews local needs, researches nonprofit organizations and determines where funding can make a meaningful difference.
A planned gift can provide annual support for organizations serving the Upper Keys, Homestead and Florida City, addressing the needs that matter most at that time, from education and youth programs to health and family services and other critical community needs.
Estate planning is about more than preparing for the future. It’s an opportunity to shape it and to create a legacy of generosity that continues caring for the community you love, year after year.
