Ocean Reef Chapel & Fellowship Center
The Ocean Reef Chapel & Fellowship Center continues to flourish as a spiritual and community hub, bringing together people of all faiths in meaningful worship and fellowship. Rebuilt in 2018, the Chapel is home to four vibrant congregations—Catholic, Episcopal, Jewish, and Protestant—offering a diverse range of programs and events for associates & members. At Ocean Reef, we are blessed to have the Medical Center for the body, the Cultural Center for the mind, and the Chapel for the soul.
With over 900 events hosted throughout the year, the Chapel has seen a remarkable 20% increase in attendance this season. The variety of interfaith events continues to engage the community, including the Museum of the Bible presentation and the unrolling of the Torah. During the holiday season, the Christmas Extravaganza Concert featured outstanding performances by Maria Aleida, John Rudolph, and Roberto Berrocal, leaving attendees uplifted and inspired.
The Chapel fosters spiritual growth through an array of Bible study groups, including Chapel Women Connect, Co-Ed Catholic Way Bible Study, Men’s Fellowship, Catholic Men’s Fellowship, and Catholic Women’s Bible Study. Weekly potluck gatherings and the monthly Silver Cafe provide additional opportunities for fellowship and connection among members.
As the Chapel moves forward, it bids a heartfelt farewell to beloved Chaplain Bob Henley, who unwavering dedication and compassion have shaped the community since 2014. Stepping into this important role is Dr. Dan Meyer, the new Chaplain in Residence. Dr. Meyer has introduced an inspiring new Sunday 10:30 a.m. Bible study, delving into the profound life lessons found in the Book of Nehemiah, offering fresh perspectives and deep reflection for those seeking growth and understanding. The community eagerly welcomes his leadership and spiritual guidance.
Accompanying this exciting transition, the Chapel welcomes Giulia Covella as the new Executive Director for the Chapel Foundation. Giulia brings a wealth of experience and a visionary approach to strategic leadership, financial oversight, staff development, program expansion, and facility operations, ensuring that every aspect of the Chapel continues to thrive. She joins Jessica Poitevin, Chapel Director, in continuing to lead with dedication and vision, fostering an environment where faith and fellowship flourish.
