Providing exceptional on-site health care to Ocean Reef includes the commitment of providing services that will eliminate the need to travel outside of the gates. Ocean Reef would be a different place without on-site medical care. Providing 24- hour, 365- day coverage to the Ocean Reef community is part of what makes “Health Care -the Ocean Reef Way” so exceptional.
Specialists in 25 fields with a choice of 40 providers, routinely come to the Medical Center to see patients, further eliminating the need to leave Ocean Reef. The Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine department is staffed by seasoned therapists with additional certifications in several cutting-edge modalities.
The full scope of diagnostics includes, a CT Scanner, MRI, ultrasound, bone density, X-ray, retinal imaging and an audiology booth. In keeping with the latest advancements for hardware and software, equipment must be periodically replaced. The most recent replacement was a more modern and technically advanced X-ray machine.
Providing these services comes at a sacrifice. Reimbursements from Medicare and insurance companies amount to about two thirds of patient care expenses. The Medical Center is grateful to the many philanthropically minded individuals who recognized the need for additional funding to replace expensive diagnostic equipment or needed facility upgrades. To fund operational shortfall, the Ocean Reef Medical Center Foundation’s “Founders Society” program” continues to be its base for providing needed funds. To date there are over 1,000 Founding Members.
The Medical Center is one of the recipients of the yearly “All Charities” event, another wonderful philanthropic example of generosity and volunteerism, provided by so many individuals from the Ocean Reef and Anglers Club communities.
