The 2025 Catwalk Fur a Cause drew 470 attendees to Ocean Reef’s Town Hall on February 17. It was hosted by ORCAT Board Chairman Luisa Bryan and Dr. Lora Cummings, Veterinary Medical Director of the Grayvik Animal Center. Paul Bishop served as the master of ceremonies with his signature energy and charm.
Dr. Cummings expressed gratitude for the audience’s support, emphasizing that the new Grayvik Animal Center represents a commitment to pet care. “The next chapter of Grayvik begins now, and I could not be more grateful to be on this journey with you,” she said.
Lisa Desmond, Catwalk Committee Chair, introduced ORCA Board member Ray Herman, who provided an update on the 6,800-square-foot, two-level facility. The project is 30 percent complete, with structural walls at 90 percent and a certificate of occupancy expected by the year’s end.
The Penny W. Stamps Award was presented to Joyce Esernia for her dedication to raising critical funds for the new Grayvik Animal Center. “She believes every creature deserves kindness and protection,” Dr. Cummings said. “Her passion has united the community, ensuring a lasting legacy of compassion and care.”
The beloved “Paws on the Runway” segment was the highlight of the show! It featured 12 Ocean Reef pets and two rescue dogs available for adoption.
Premier Sponsor Neiman Marcus Coral Gables followed with a stunning fashion show featuring designs from Alexander McQueen, Badgley Mischka, Zimmerman, Tom Ford, and Stella McCartney, to Victoria Beckham, Valentino, and Giorgio Armani.
Catwalk was a resounding success, uniting fashion, philanthropy, and a love for animals in support of the future Grayvik Animal Center, home of ORCAT. See the 2025 Catwalk video for more>>
