Here we are again, starting a new season at the Ocean Reef Art League, and there is much to be excited about.
This past summer, we launched our very first Kids Summer Camp Program for one week, and its success has inspired us to expand it next summer. But enough about summer—let’s talk about this season! Your children and grandchildren can enjoy our “Christmas Ornament Suncatcher Class,” “Cookies for Santa Platters,” “Kids’ Bubble Paint Ceramic Pumpkins,” along with many Kids Happy Hour Events throughout the season. There are too many to mention here, so please check out the brochure at the Art League for more details.
Back by popular demand are classes like Nantucket Baskets, Needlepoint, Sea Glass Mosaics, Seashell Art, Knitting Classes, Paint Nights, and so many more! Why not try your hand at something new or join your friends at your old favorites.
Of course, our popular excursions off the Reef are back! I’ve already heard many people express their excitement about experiencing the Zoo Miami Holiday Lights, the Art Deco Walk & Tasting Tour, and the Biscayne Bay Stiltsville Boat Tour. Some of the trips are already half sold out, so don’t miss your chance!
We always strive to offer new experiences, lectures, and events. A sure hit will be the History of South Florida Lecture by Dr. Paul George in February! I’m personally partial to our Book & Lecture Club. We invite everyone to come out and discuss the book, or simply listen to those who have read it and talk about it. The list of books is available in the back of the Art League Brochure.
We deeply appreciate everyone’s support, especially the ongoing support of the incredibly generous Ocean Reef Community Foundation. We are thrilled that they recognize the value and unique experiences we can offer to the Members of Ocean Reef because of their support.
Our memberships continue to grow, and we welcome new members! Come and see what it’s all about. Stop by our regular shows, and please feel free to speak to our staff about the many programs we offer.
Hope to see you all over this season!
All the best, Deborah Goodwin Geller
